The northern states of the country including Delhi, Punjab and Himachal are witnessing flood like situation due to rain. In the last 24 hours, 56 people died in separate incidents of landslides and floods in seven states.

The record of 52 years of rain has been broken in Manali. Himachal CM has asked people to stay at home for the next 24 hours. Many rivers and canals in the state are above the danger mark. The cloud has burst in two places.

 

The water level of the Yamuna river in Delhi has crossed the danger mark. CM Kejriwal said- Our system was not made for such rain. At this time all the states have to work together.

 

PM Narendra Modi has spoken to ministers and officials regarding the flood and rain situation. According to the PMO, the administration and teams of NDRF and SDRF are involved in the rescue.

 

The total rainfall of the country is now more than normal. The normal rainfall till July 9 was 239 mm. Now the figure has crossed it to 243 mm, which is 2% more.

 

By 1 pm in Delhi, the water level of Yamuna reached 204.63 metres.

In view of the heavy rains in Delhi, CM Kejriwal held a meeting.

He was shifted due to water leakage in the court room in Delhi High Court.

So far 23 have died in Himachal due to rains, floods and landslides this season.

A total of 1300 roads including National Highway and Link Road were affected in Himachal.

All government, aided and private schools closed till July 13 in Punjab.
