Madhya Pradesh Fisheries Federation has bagged national award of best cooperative institution. The award was recently conferred by Punjab Governor Shri Shivraj Patil at a function held in New Delhi by Indian National Cooperative Federation. Fisheries Development Minister Shri Ajay Vishnoi called on Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan and informed him about the award here today. The Chief Minister congratulated officers and employees of the federation for this achievement. Principal Secretary Fisheries Smt. Saleena Singh and Managing Director Shri U.K. Sadbuddhi were also present on the occasion.
The national level award has been conferred to Fisheries Federation for its better works in cooperative sector. The federation had increased wages of fishermen from Rs. 19 to Rs. 25 per kg last year to encourage them. Federation’s income has registered about cent percent increase in its revenue compared to last year. Similarly, gross revenue receipts have also witnessed increase of 35 percent. Amount of deferred wages has also been increased by 100 percent.
